From IMAX spectacles that shook my ribcage to emotional surprises that punched me in the soul, these are the films that defined my year. The ones that made me lean forward in the theater, forget real life for two hours, or say “cinema is ba

Thailand looks awfully familiar, almost the same as the Philippines, especially Pasay where I grew up from ages 0 to 5.

It starts out fun and very relatable. The whole idea of a retirement bucket list immediately made me think about the things I also want to do someday, especially finally…

“Sometimes hearts have their own conversations.” I put this off for a long time because I didn’t believe it would be as great as people were saying.

THE TERRIFYING POSSIBILITY THAT THE PERSON YOU CAN TRUST THE LEAST MIGHT BE YOURSELF.

This is the kind of documentary that teaches you skills that might actually come in handy in life, but should absolutely not be used unless you want to become a criminal.

Grabe agad ang impact. The delayed explosion sound with the reflection of America’s map shaking, brilliant way to open the film.

Inside Out 2 hits hardest in the moments where Riley can’t understand herself anymore.

Beautifully shot. The film almost feels like a cosmic and spiritual slice of life about a donkey.

Well it is actually funny when it finally clicked why that is the title.

I like the moment when Harrison Lee turns from being mad to eventually falling in love with László’s design for his library.

This film is the embodiment of “my body, my choice.” But what made it interesting for me is that it does not present that choice as something emotionally simple.

If you love stealthy unsanctioned missions that go boom when the time is right, you are in for a treat.

Funny and weird movie. It uses that strange metaphor of a mother slowly turning into something she is not.

Great acting by Andrew and Florence. I am with Florence’s character here, Almut.

The animation honestly looks like something straight out of Y8 or Newgrounds.

Kinds of Kindness thrives on absurdity, and power dynamics rather than clear messaging.

I watched this after X because I wanted to see what the future holds for Maxine and how her story would conclude.

It started off like an Indian version of John Wick, with the underground world, brutal action, and revenge setup.

The film looks very modern, and you can really feel the heavy use of CGI right away.

Basically, vloggers doing stupid things inside a horror movie.
