Dune: Part Two 2024

This review is coming from me as someone who didn't read the books so spare me if may misinterpretations Ang tagal ko nang hindi naexperience yung ganitong saya, excitement, at satisfaction after watching a film. Actually hindi lang sya film eh, cinematic experience sya. Now I know why people call this a masterpiece. I'm crazy about this lahat ng nakakausap ko sinusuggest kong panoorin ito just like when I watched my fave movieA Star is Born. Every frame napakaganda ng shots. Parang walang bychance lang nakuhaan. Every shot is intentionally made. It's as if every frame jumps out straight from the storyboards. Every frame is like a painting. Every frame walang tapon! For me this is a textbook example of a war film from an interstellar setting. Ibang iba sya sa part one, the former focuses on building up the story of each houses. Itong latter is sobrang dark and ang daming sub plots. Sobrang juicy ng mga contexts nito. May family feud, may political, may religion, etc. Its not just a sci fi movie. It is thought provoking. Ako nakarelate ako kay Zendaya. Ako ay isang agnostic and it is very hard for me to blindly follow dogma of any religion/prophecies or whatever bullshit. In this film, it depicts faith - how blindly people follow the written prophecies made by the bene gesserit. Sabi sa film, faith works for those who are weak and hopeles people. Ginawa lang yung prophecy to control, to give people something to hope for. "They've been told what to see". That someday someone is coming who will lead them into paradise. Sounds familiar? 🤔 I am a fan of films wherein need ko magresearch to understand it and rewatch it for a second or third viewing to the point na every viewing may subtle kang napipickup either sa story, even the miniscule blink of an eye. I can't quite wrap my head around sobrang daming ganap. Ang daming subplot na nagcocontribute sa big picture. Para syang game of thrones in space. May mga politics and hidden agendas/manipulations/scheming. There is a unquenchable hunger to dig deep. To get more knowledge and information and consume contents and read books. Ito yung mga moment na gusto mong bumalik at a certain point of time so that you can experience it again for the frst time. Bitter ako nung una dahil better daw sa star wars. This film made star wars look like a franchise for kids. I am late to the fandom consider me as a fan!!! Now lang masaya dahil di dahil fan service or mindfuck movie kundi dahil sobrang naintrigue ako and naabsorb ako sa world building. You just simply get lost into it. again, IMAX really hits different. Don't compromise!!! Acting is superb! My favorite is rebecca (lady jessica) i can feel she is torn between her duty as a bene gesserit and protecting by surviving with hee children Sound design is really great. It makes you feel so emersed, claustrophobic and vibrates with it (literally feels like an earthquake Oppenheimer x10) again, IMAX really hits different. Don't compromise!!! This film is made to be seen in the theaters. Wardrobe is 💯 ang ganda ng fabrics. It feels so realistic, grounded, futuristic, old fashioned all at the same time. When I watched dune part one in Netflix, I thought paul will just be like Peter Parker annoying stubborn kid but his growth is massive and he became Anakin Skywalker figure real quick. I just don't know if Paul is using the prophecy to gain power to avenge his father's murder or it's the lesser evil "narrow path" for the better good. This is the kind of movie where you don't know if the hero is doing this for the good of all or for self interest only. I think I got really hooked after the 30 minute mark where they need to destroy a Harkonnen vessel and aircraft sabi ko Oh boy this one is totally is a game changer. Sa third act hindi na ako makahinga sa sobrang intense. I dont want the movie to end. To wrap up, para maintindihan nyo kung gano kaganda ito: Grandeur and scale of The Lord of the Rings + Game of Thrones in space+ James Cameron's Avatar world building + Star wars Rogue One on steriods.
