The Idea of You (2024) review

If you like uncommon love stories that are willing to deal with a controversial subject like a significant age gap, The Idea of You is definitely worth checking out. It kind of feels like A Star Is Born (2018), with an ordinary woman suddenly becoming romantically involved with a huge music star and having to deal with everything that comes with his fame. It also reminds me of the Korean drama Something in the Rain (2018), with its age-gap romance and the judgment and pressure that come from people around them. The outside world keeps turning something intimate into something controversial. Another great acting showcase for Anne Hathaway. She really sells both the excitement of unexpectedly falling in love and the vulnerability that comes with everything surrounding the relationship.
