A collection of films that fried my brain. Time loops, unreliable narrators, simulations, identity crises, existential dread, these movies don’t just have plot twists, they have reality twists. Perfect for when I want to feel smart, confuse

Much stronger on a second viewing because the film shifts from feeling like a mystery to feeling like an interpretation exercise.

I don’t know why, but I felt really unmotivated to watch this.

The film opens with beautiful landscape photography, and that visual quality stays consistent all throughout.

The film immediately establishes an unsettling mood through its oppressive yellow color grading.

Beautiful representation of what is happening inside a person’s mind with dementia.

The film carries Michael Bay’s signature DNA, that constant sense of imminent threat and high tension danger.

Wildly entertaining. The trailers really don’t do justice to how fun, dangerous, and surprisingly intense this movie actually is.

I lost interest at first because there were a bunch of names that sounded like bullshit to me, like the names didn’t freaking fit into the narrative.

I went in expecting a fairly standard alien invasion film, but it ended up surprising me with something much more thoughtful than I anticipated.

The film immediately stands out through its immersive sound and production design, where the environment feels alive and oppressive rather than just background.

What if the afterlife is just staying behind and watching everything you left?

Serviceable comedy and action. It gets the job done but nothing really stands out.

All that for a dress? Reminiscent of PTA’s Phantom Thread, but make it look like a highly artistic and elaborate music video with nicely done continuous shots and…

I watched this because of the fact that it was one of Christopher Nolan’s inspirations for Inception (2010).
