Every frame is yellowish, almost golden. This aesthetic immediately reminded me of the Wallace Corporation look in Blade Runner 2049, that oppressive yellow tone that makes everything feel sickly, dry, and unsettling. It already tells you that this world is not stable. I’m getting strong The Prestige vibes here. There’s an alternate storytelling approach meant to confuse the audience, constantly making you question which version is real and which one isn’t. The film plays with identity and perception. It’s a slow burn, and even after an hour, it still moves at the same uneasy, restrained pace. There’s tension, but it’s buried under silence and repetition rather than overt drama. And honestly, you find out you have a doppelgänger and the first thing you do is swap wives? What a horny movie. That decision alone made everything feel more disturbing than clever, like lust and ego are driving the chaos. After reading Reddit theories, my mind honestly melted. Ang daming interpretations, symbolism, and layers that I clearly missed on first watch. This feels like one of those films you have to rewatch to form your own solid opinion, because a single viewing isn’t enough to fully process what Denis Villeneuve is trying to say. Para syang modern day Fight Club. Right now, I’m still confused, and not fully convinced but intrigued enough to admit that this film might hit differently on a second watch.
