Backrooms 2026

I love found footage, and I wish the movie stayed in that lane more. That was the only sequence that really gave me goosebumps. The atmosphere is strong. Acting and production design are easily the highlights. Not horror enough, I think. More of a psychological mind fuck. Need ko pa mag-research kung tama yung pagkakaintindi ko because the movie feels like it wants you to decode it more than fear it. When the twist I thought would happen started forming, like the Backrooms being some sort of Maze Runner kind of shit, it abruptly stopped. Too bad. That was really frustrating because I wanted the movie to fully commit to that idea. Overall, it gave me Annihilation and The Shining vibes with the duplicates and the way places reflect a person. If there was more found footage and the twist really committed, I would have loved this more.
