Fist of Fury 1972

I can clearly see shots here that later inspired Quentin Tarantino in Kill Bill, especially the sudden zoom into close up reactions. The camera snaps into the actor’s face right at the emotional beat. The lighting is theatrical. Even the production design feels arranged almost like stage sets. This feels more like an old TV Sunday special presentation than a cinematic film. Some fights come off comedic because of the sped up motion. But there are still moments where the choreography shines, especially when Bruce Lee slows down and you can see the precision of his movements, the timing of strikes, and the controlled power behind each motion. Those parts still look cool and remind me why his screen presence became legendary.
