If not, save this post and come back after. ⚠️ I needed this to wash the taste of Moonraker out of my head so I could recalibrate my expectations again with Bond films and actually enjoy the ride instead of questioning every decision the film makes. The opening action sequence is heart pounding and insanely energetic. Non stop stunts and parkour danger immediately establish the tone. This version of Bond feels physical and grounded. The swagger of Daniel Craig is very noticeable. The cinematography carries that yellow, gold, brown palette that I naturally gravitate toward. The spy craft is also clear and easy to follow which makes the tension land better. The musical score keeps the classy and grand scale feeling throughout the film, constantly reminding me that I am watching a high stakes world of elegance and danger rather than just a simple action story. The music carries that aura of sophistication and tension, making every moment feel important and elevated. The airport sequence is nail biting intense. Sustained action, clean geography, and excellent camerawork keep me locked in the whole time. I could really feel the torture scene. Tho, Mads Mikkelsen’s death felt abrupt so I immediately sensed he was not the ultimate villain. But honestly, I think the character could have been explored more. The third act production design is impressive, especially the massive sinking structure. The action is great but the emotional fallout is the real highlight. Lesson learned, trust no one.
