The Intouchables 2011
The film starts strong with an electric car chase followed by a funny sequence where Driss pretends Philippe is sick. Classic playful setup.
I first watched this during our French class in college pero di namin natapos, so I came back to it now with fresh eyes.
Sobrang funny ng training days ni Driss. He really maintains the comedic atmosphere. The bonding that forms between him and Philippe feels natural and warm, especially since Philippe’s life looks so dull because of his condition. Their chemistry carries the entire film.
Yung humor dito may class. Hindi cheap, hindi pilit. The punch lines land because they come from personality differences and genuine connection rather than forced jokes. Witty and refined yung style ng comedy.
Feel good movie in the most natural way. Hindi siya try hard. It just flows.
And Driss has an actual character arc. From someone who looks aimless and irresponsible at first, he becomes dependable and essential in Philippe’s life.
I have no complaints. It is sincere, charming, and effortless. A really enjoyable watch.
