Soulmate 2023

Visually it reminds me of a nicely lit and colored K-drama, but with touches of A24 style in certain scenes. There are moments with higher contrast and low key lighting mixed with neon colors that give it a more intimate atmosphere. The acting is expertly done by Kim Da-mi and Jeon So-nee. They feel believable even as they portray different stages of their lives. It starts off as a light and warm film, then slowly becomes heavier as the characters grow older. I just wished it stayed light and warm rather than becoming a bitter unsaid feelings with healing nuances film.
