Obsession... but make it food. The film is very atmospheric. It carries that familiar A24 style with neon grading that complements the dark motifs of Obsession (2025). I especially like the macro shots. They make the food feel both beautiful and disturbing at the same time, emphasizing the sensory aspect of the experience. For me, the film works more as a metaphor. It can be interpreted as obesity, anorexia, or simply an unhealthy relationship with consumption and self image. The first two acts feel more sad than scary. It is definitely a slow burn. But by the third act, it transforms into metaphorical psychological horror rather than traditional horror. Overall, there is nothing particularly new here. Most of what the film offers is already present in the trailer. Ending is somehow forced.
