Watched it on HBO Max Good editing, seamless transitions. Halimbawa, yung cut na eksaktong sabay sa kakagatin na si Hayley tapos cut sa babaeng kumakanta na pasigaw, sobrang galing. Same with the peek a boo bite scene na biglang cut to opening curtains. Nagulat talaga ako dun sa sabay na pagkagat at putok ng baril. Ang ganda ng match cuts! Music also stands out. The fight scene where the beat synced perfectly with each punch, solid. Yung weird musical scene na may mix of past, present, and future, surprisingly effective. Bagong sound texture pero may charm. The song Picked Poor Robin Clean is haunting and symbolic, serving as quiet foreshadowing for the moral decay that follows. Its tone fits perfectly with the theme of temptation, parang lullaby ni Lucifer. For sound design immersion, 9/10 for me. Ramdam ko talaga yung beat, napapaindak ako kahit brutal ang eksena. The mix of silence, rhythm, and timing of every punch, gunshot, and scream felt deliberate. The sunset color palette is gorgeous, parang Renaissance meets apocalypse. Pero overall, it feels too cinematic for a zombie movie, almost too beautiful for its own genre. Parang Les Miserables meets Train to Busan, with marching song energy and period vibes Psychological layer ang nagdala. The sweet talk dialogues sound romantic but they are actually demonic invitations, temptations disguised as love. Let me in sabi ng evil. Parang metaphor ng sin, the devil offering companionship while destroying you slowly. It reminds you we always have a choice, whether to open the door or stay safe inside our fortress Visually, I love the deep blacks and the narrow aspect ratio. It makes the frame feel smaller, tighter, almost suffocating. Perfect for that claustrophobic dread The gore was realistic and purposeful, not exploitative. And the lens work was ambitious. Many shots looked stunning, though a few suffered because the shallow depth made the background look like a green screen composite The costume design and set pieces were convincing and historically grounded. I fully bought into the idea that this was set in an older period. Kahit low light, believable ang world building. It is a slow burn start, honestly felt like a startup company drama for the first 40 minutes. Pero pagdating ng 41 minute mark, that is when it finally got me The ending hit hard. The moment he finally touches his daughter and says Papa’s here, kumurot sa puso ko. Made me want to hold Luna and Mina by my arms more than ever. After all that chaos, that single line gave the film its soul For rewatch value, yes probably. The film’s layered symbolism and slow burn structure make it worth revisiting, especially to catch all the subtle foreshadowing and lyrical connections between the music and moral themes. It is not the type of movie you marathon right away, but one you return to after some time, when you are ready to re experience its quiet dread and emotional closure
