Hustle 2022
I love the cinematography during Bo Cruz’s first workout with the other players, where he sucked. I can really feel his frustration once his opponent gets inside his head and starts breaking his confidence.
Love their mentor mentee relationship. They are serious, but there is still plenty of room to goof around.
Speaking of relationships, the father and daughter dynamic feels like Chef (2014), where the child helped boost the father’s career using social media.
Love the training montage too. It really shows how much work Bo puts in. I can witness the exhaustion, and gradual improvement.
And throughout the movie, the lighting, framing, and color grading are consistently well done. Purposeful and cinematic.
