Sobrang ganda, I don't even know where to start! Pinagsisihan ko noon na hindi ko pinanood yung 1 sa sinehan so ang comparison ko lang is watching it on tv. So I made a promise to myself wayback 2009 na kapag may sequel ay papanoorin ko na talaga sa sinehan, in 3D and in IMAX! I knew it! Iba yung magiging experience kapag pinanood sa IMAX. Tama ang decision ko. Nagkape ako actually kasi akala ko nakakaantok dahil 3hrs 14mins ang total running time. But no! Daming action scenes. Never ako hinikab. 🤣 Here are my pros and cons. 1. Sobrang swabe! 2. Sobrang ganda ng underwater scenes! Para ka talagang nasa underwater. Kakaiba yung CGI and 3D environment. Siguro dahil din sa lighting. Karamihan kasi ng scenes in nasa beach/open sea kaya direct sunlight. Nag pay off yung bagong mocap technology na ginamit and dinevelop ni James Cameron. Unlike kasi sa Aquaman and Wakanda Forever na nakaharness sila tapos nakachroma, ito naman sa ilalim talaga ng tubig shinoot with indoor tank with (waterproof?) motion capture suit. 3. Skin. Humanlike na, they almost made me believe that these are real people and not CGI characters! Best motion capture characters I've seen so far. Better than Caesar(Planet of the Apes), Hulk and Maz Kanata (Star Wars Ep VII: The Force Awakens) 4. Best IMAX experience ever! 3D elements, the sound engineering, crystal clear images. Even better than any Transformers, Marvel, and Star Wars. 5. Tulkan (Whale like creatures) parang straight from Nat geo, di mukhang computer generated. 6. Forest still the same. Parang wala akong nakitang significant change. 7. Parang straight out from videogames. Baka hindi ILM ang gumawa, ubos na siguro budget because of mo-cap? 😅 8. Frame rate. 48 fps is better than 60fps of Gemini Man. Still cinematic while being "life like" or realistic. 9. I like the story better. Revenge, worried father (buti nalang wala akong lalaking anak 😅). Nandun pa rin yung spiritual side of it. Nandun pa rin yung fighting for your home. But I believe in this sequel, mas nagintroduce sya ng mas malalim na lore which I think will be expounded sa next three films. Ang ayaw ko lang is yung third act, common sa hollywood films na sobrang bilis and maraming nangyayari sa climax and victim rin ang Way of Water dito. 10. You have to really see it in IMAX to witness its full glory. I don't think 4DX Cinema in Bonifacio Highstreet nor Dolby Atmos Cinema can offer what I am saying. You have to be there to know what I'm saying. It's so magical. It's really immersive. The posters, trailers and other promotional materials did not give justice for its full potential. All in all, Cameron outdid himself again. I'm wondering what he still has to offer on the next installments. Probably the best film for me this year next to Top Gun: Maverick. Will watch it again next week. 😎
