G20 2025
Early on, the film throws a very classic and cliché question at the president: how do we know we can trust you to keep us safe when you can’t even keep your own house in order? That line sets the tone, and you already know what kind of political action thriller this is going to be.
Menacing si Anthony Starr as always.
Good thing naincorporate yung deepfake sa storyline. The film shows how it can be used to manipulate politics, and how people are so gullible with fake news. Even if alam na ng tao na hindi totoo, it can still crash the market.
Napapalakpak ako nung sinaksak ng South Korean First Lady si Anthony Starr. Revenge moment talaga.
Hindi siya ganun kaearned and parang nilagay lang for the sake of twist.
Highlight yung elevator fight scene. Malinis panoorin yung action.
May character development din na naappreciate ko. Yung Prime Minister na ayaw sundan yung US president at first, pero later siya pa yung nag urge sa VP na sundin ito. Si Elena rin, from being unsure as a head of the International Monetary Fund, siya na mismo yung naglead sa Beast palabas ng perimeter.
Overall, this feels like White House Down or Olympus Has Fallen, pero set in a foreign country. Bagay kay Viola Davis yung role, especially yung military aspect, very natural sa kanya yung tenacity.
May cliché din na bago magfinal boss, may lalabanan munang mas malaki at mas malakas.
In the end, G20 doesn’t reinvent the genre. Familiar political action thriller siya with some good moments, some forced twists, and a lot of well worn tropes.
