The technique used there is motivated lighting with controlled color contrast. The light feels intentional. Rian Johnson uses a lot of long zoom shots here, which is a nightmare for focus pullers. The film is clearly a satire of the Catholic Church. Hindi siya subtle, but it is smart. It pokes at rituals, power, guilt, and performative morality. Josh Brolin looks like Jeff Bridges here. His homilies are powerful, not just in writing but in delivery. He commands attention whenever he speaks. The ensemble cast is great. Walang weak link. Everyone feels like they belong in this weird, morally messy world. The formula is very different from the first two films. The plot is very unpredictable. Hindi mo talaga alam kung saan pupunta, and that’s part of the fun. Ang ganda ng payoff. Sulit yung oras. The ending feels earned and satisfying without over explaining everything. Best among the series.
