Roofman 2025
It starts off fun and slightly romantic with bits of family drama. The tone is initially comedic, then slowly shifts into something more serious. I like how he was persistent in earning Leigh’s daughters’ trust, especially Lindsay who presents herself as "emotionally unavailable".
This film is about a criminal living a life on the run, building lies on top of lies. It is the kind of story that makes me root for the criminal to get away with it, not because he is a good person, but because he is not entirely bad either. He just feels desperate, trying to provide for his family in the only way he knows.
The film is really well made and I was engaged the whole time. The acting is great, especially from Channing and Kirsten. Their eyes alone carry so much emotion. I think this is the first time I have seen both of them this great.
The poster looks goofy, but the film is not. So yeah, do not judge a film by its poster!
