I would not say the film is beautifully lit in the traditional sense, but it feels intentionally lit. The lighting is simple and controlled, very clean in execution. It does not try too hard to be cinematic. I especially like the moments when the neon lights appear because they add a little personality to the film. But more than a romance, this story is about a mother longing for her daughter. That emotional core drives everything. The romance is there, but it is secondary to that deeper desire to reconnect and rebuild what was lost. When they finally meet, the moment feels like pure joy. After everything that happened and all the barriers in between, that reunion carries the emotional payoff the whole film has been building toward.
