If not, save this post and come back after. ⚠️ I can relate to her behavior in Catholic school, especially the way she refuses to participate and doesn’t fully believe in the traditions. It reminds me of my own high school days, even eating the communion bread with my Knights of the Altar friends back then. I laughed really hard during the homecoming dance scene when the sister said, “6 inches apart for the Holy Spirit.” Hahaha. Ganun din kahigpit during our celestial party, di pwede magkadikit. That moment perfectly captures how awkward and funny those enforced rules can be when you’re young and just trying to have fun. Another genuine surprise that made me laugh was when she caught her boyfriend kissing another boy in the men’s CR. The shock and timing of that reveal feel very real, like one of those sudden moments where your perception of someone completely flips. I see the film as a coming of age story about growth. Watching her shift from being an ungrateful, frustrated teenager into someone more self aware and appreciative of her life and family feels natural. It’s messy, emotional, and very human, which is why her development lands well for me.
