King Arthur (2004) review

Epic in all proportions. The scale, script, grand heroic musical score, sets, stacked cast, painterly cinematography, and tense direction all work together incredibly well. I honestly cannot comprehend how Antoine Fuqua pulled this off in 2004. It feels like a blend of old school filmmaking techniques with just enough modern filmmaking sensibility to make it feel fresh. The whole production looks massive without feeling overly polished or artificial. This film feels flawless and impactful to me. And man, Fuqua should do more epic historical films! 4.5 stars for now, but a strong candidate for 5 stars on the next rewatch.
