I view this story as a kind of quiet rebellion that happens even within the safety and comfort of a loving parent. The child pushes away from that protection for something that seems more exciting or new. It reminds me of the saying “the grass is always greener on the other side.” That feeling of believing that something outside what we already have might be better. As we grow, we sometimes prioritize the new thing we just discovered and forget the slow, steady things we are already building. Those are often the things that actually matter the most. The story also shows how a parent figure will always choose their child, even at the cost of their own life. For me the message becomes very simple. Let go of the garbage distractions and focus on patiently building something that can last a lifetime. The musical moments are great too. They add warmth to the story. Overall the short film feels warm, thoughtful, and sincere.
