Black Mirror: Eulogy 2025
The drama is great. It is all about reliving a painful and bitter past. I like how it shows that the brain sometimes chooses to forget certain things just to cope with the pain. At the same time, people also reshape their memories and believe their own version of the past just to justify what they feel.
The use of real photography combined with strong cinematography works really well with the seamless VFX. The technology feels believable because it is grounded in something tangible. It feels like something that could actually exist, which makes the emotional impact stronger.
Paul Giamatti was great here. He really carries the weight of regret and reflection in his performance. Patsy was also good. Their dynamic adds depth to the story.
By the end it feels like the episode is less about the technology and more about confronting the truth we try to hide from ourselves.
