Whisper of the Heart 1995

Not everyone needs to follow the same path. Go ahead and do what your heart tells you. But it's never easy when you do things differently from everyone else. If things don't go well, you'll only have yourself to blame. This is probably the quote that resonated with me the most. My parents never forced me into a specific path. They did not pressure me to become something I did not want to be. Instead, they gave me the freedom to explore, make mistakes, and figure things out on my own when I was a student. That freedom was a gift, but it also came with responsibility. When I succeeded, I knew it was because of my own choices. When I failed, I had nobody else to blame. That is why this quote hits so close to home. It reminds me that finding my own path is both a privilege and a burden, but one I am grateful to have been given.
