SOCOM meets Michael Bay, with James Bond leading the mission. Such a pleasure to watch Sean Connery this old yet still have this James Bond charisma during a covert operation. And he’s in a Michael Bay film! The San Francisco cable car being launched into the air and sliding down the road is something you don’t see every day. That cable car was physically launched and flipped. No CGI, just practical effects. That’s Michael Bay for you! With the stealth and everything, this reminds me of the old game SOCOM. The infiltration, tactical movement, communication, and trying to enter an enemy controlled location gave me that same kind of military mission feeling. Brutal death for Captain Darrow, and a very satisfying one after his insubordination. Well, I think it is a popcorn flick with great filmmaking techniques. I appreciate the mission and covert ops aspects, but it is not something that would beat my top five Michael Bay films. Watched on Disney+
