The Menu 2022
I’m going to eat a cheeseburger after this.
The Menu feels like a satire about foodie culture and how something as simple and basic as eating can become absurdly overcomplicated. The obsession with presentation, prestige, exclusivity, taking photos before actually tasting anything, and treating food like a status symbol instead of something meant to be enjoyed all get roasted here.
For me, it felt more like poetic justice than comedy. A lot of these people are so detached, entitled, or obsessed with appearing sophisticated that watching everything turn against them feels weirdly satisfying.
And yeah... I’m with Chef Slowick.
