Onslaught 2026
I get Overlord (2018) feels from this, especially with the military horror setup, enhanced soldiers, secret experiments, and this idea of supposedly unstoppable human weapons being unleashed into a brutal survival situation.
The three supersoldiers are always aura farming, basked in the full glory of smoke, dramatic lighting, and cinematic atmosphere, posing like they are about to drop the hardest band album of the year. I honestly thought they were about to pull off some insanely badass coordinated tactical warefare once they finally started moving. But alas, what a letdown. And the glowing eyes, really? Fucking corny. Slowest and most vain supersoldiers I’ve watched.
It works like a stupid slasher film wrapped inside this very cinematic film grain texture with that classic A24 style neon lighting. The black and white flashback sequences look really nice too, but the flashbacks themselves have no cathartic impact nor really serve their purpose, despite being foreshadowed many times.
Arjona’s most badass performance to date after Andor. Same intensity as Uma Thurman's The Bride in Kill Bill 1 & 2.
