The first to second act plays like a revenge checklist. Step by step, calculated, almost procedural in how things unfold. I honestly thought the third act would fall apart, but it actually works because of the manifesto. That idea of bypassing conscience ties everything together. When it clicks, the title becomes very literal, and it recontextualizes everything that came before. Definitely worth a second watch to pick up subtle things with this new knowledge. My only complaint is Julia’s motivation. It is not fully fleshed out. But I also feel like that might be intentional? Like unhinged and unthinkable mindset can exist without clean explanations, especially when the film’s message starts to bleed into real life thinking.
