Same vibes as Weapons, but instead of witchcraft this one deals with aliens. I actually like the characters here better. The family dynamics feel more believable, and because of that I get more invested in what happens to them. I also like the story more, especially the way the extraterrestrial beings slowly toy with their psychology. It is manipulation, confusion, and fear building little by little inside their home. The director is really good at creating suspense through anticipation of the inevitable. The tension builds quietly. Scenes do not drag too long but they also do not rush. The pacing feels balanced, letting the uneasiness slowly grow. By the end it leaves a lot of possibilities with how the story concludes. That kind of ending does not fully close the door, it just leaves that unsettling thought that maybe the story is not really over.
