The Wrecking Crew 2026
The fight choreography at the beginning is nicely messy. High-action but funny at the same time. There’s a playful rhythm to the punches and movement rather than trying to be overly slick.
The real explosions are a plus. You can feel when something is done practically, and those moments stand out compared to the rest of the action.
Unfortunately, the CGI really drags it down. The cars, helicopters, and environments look bad, especially the background replacements during the highway scene. Halatang green screen, and it breaks immersion hard.
I didn’t feel any sympathy for the characters or any real stakes. The action felt weightless, and even the gore looks fully digital, so nothing really lands. The Yakuza comes off as funny instead of scary, which kills the tension. The plot twist is predictable, so there’s no real surprise factor.
At least the two leads get some character development at the last second. Overall, it’s serviceable if you’re just there for light action, but it doesn’t leave much impact.
