It feels adventurous, but in a more grounded way. It is not overly chaotic or overstimulating like the second movie. The film keeps things fun without going too wild, which makes the journey easier to follow and enjoy.
The Mario Kart scene is a highlight. It literally feels like Mad Max Fury Road. I also feel like the stakes are bigger here. The climax feels more heroic. Saving Luigi just works better emotionally than saving the princess in the second movie. There is more connection there, so the payoff hits stronger and feels more heroic.
