The Devil's Mouth 2026
The Devil’s Mouth really reminds me of Deep Blue Sea (1999) because of its constant sense of thrill and danger, including how certain things play out. It also kind of reminds me of Under Paris (2024), but instead of navigating catacombs beneath the city, this one traps its characters inside claustrophobic caverns and tunnels.
The suspense and atmosphere are good. My only complaint is that the CGI is quite terrible at times. The film also becomes too dragging whenever it returns to its friendship theme. That character motivation keeps them going in circles, yet there is too much focus on those BFF subplots without any satisfying payoff that justifies why the director spent so much time on them.
A good movie to reward yourself with after a long and exhausting day. It is not perfect, but it is definitely better than the usual Netflix's Thrash (2026)
