The whole film feels heavy. Every theme is serious and dark. Even the colors are dark and somber, parang yung life is sucked out of the world. And all for what? A video game? Ironic how a fun and simple game had to go through such a hard and complicated path just to be acquired from Russia to America. Makes you wonder how many layers of power and negotiation go into something consumers see as “just a game.” Medyo weird lang na nagiinterchange into video game pixel style yung ilang shots. Parang di makadecide yung director if serious ba ito or are they treating this like a real life game. It kind of pulls you out of the moment sometimes.
