Good yung prologue. It clearly sets the backstory and prepares you for what kind of world and tone the film is going for. David Dastmalchian as Jack Delroy is very convincing. Para talaga siyang legit late night host from that era. May charm, may authority, pero ramdam mo rin na everything he does is driven by ratings and show business. Ang galing ni Ingrid Torelli as Lilly. Grabe yung titig niya sa camera, parang diretso siyang tumitingin sa kaluluwa mo. Unsettling. Pati yung transformation scenes niya ang galing, talagang demonic ang dating. Maganda yung production design. The way the footage is edited and presented really feels like the 70s. May texture, may analog feel, and believable yung TV broadcast aesthetic. The prosthetics are great. Practical effects really shine here and add credibility to the horror. Where it slightly loses me is the manifestation of evil. Medyo gimmicky for me yung CGI electricity. It pulled me out a bit compared to how grounded and effective the practical elements were. Reminds me of The Darkest Hour where aliens are invisible, electrical energy entities and they kill humans using electric discharges. Medyo naguluhan din ako sa ending. I get the intention, but the execution didn’t fully land for me. Overall, strong concept, great performances, and solid atmosphere. It just stumbles a bit when it leans too hard into CGI and abstraction at the end.
