Incredibles 2 2018

The villain is quite predictable. I could already see where it was going early on, so the reveal did not really hit. It is still fun, but the stakes in the first film feel more perilous. I am not sure if it is just nostalgia, but the danger and urgency in the original felt stronger. One thing I have to point out though is that the animation is much better here. The new characters and their superpowers are visually impressive. The way their abilities are animated adds a lot of creativity to the action. The first half to the second half felt a bit boring for me. It focuses on the wife stepping into the spotlight while the husband struggles with taking care of the kids. I get the intention, but it did not fully engage me. But the third act goes all out. That is where the film finally becomes exciting and delivers the kind of energy I was waiting for.
