Greenland 2: Migration 2026

This review contains spoilers after the NON-SPOILER section. NON-SPOILER: A dark, atmosphere driven disaster film that leans more on mood than spectacle. The opening chaos feels unshaped, so the stakes take time to settle, and while the CGI is serviceable with a few rough edges, it never fully breaks immersion. What really carries the experience is the sound design, which creates tension through layered alarms, movement, and environmental noise. It’s clearly a limited resources trope. SPOILERS BELOW: Di ko alam kung madilim ang projector sa sinehan sa SM o talagang madilim lang ang film na ito. Parang everything is backlit, kulang sa key and fill light, kaya minsan hirap makita ang details ng frame. The direction of chaos is not that good in the first act. Medyo magulo, hindi controlled chaos, kaya hindi agad ramdam yung stakes. CGI is around 3/5. Not too good, not too bad. May slight hiccups sa water and cloud simulations. Sound mixing is good though. Umiikot sa sinehan yung audio, lalo na yung sound effects like alarms and environmental noise. Ramdam yung panic dahil sa audio. This is a typical limited resources disaster film. What really worked for me is the fire raining down sequence. Maganda yung visuals effects, ramdam yung impact, and nakatulong yung practical wind effects. That made the scenario feel more believable. The bridge crossing sequence also worked very well. It kept me at the edge of my seat. The visuals, acting, and musical score all worked together to create a stress inducing moment. Nakakalula siya, and ramdam mo na anytime possible sila na yung susunod na mahuhulog. The warzone before the crater reminded me of Apocalypse Now’s Do Lung Bridge sequence. Night photography filled with gunfire, explosions painting the darkness, creating chaos through light bursts against pitch black surroundings. Sayang lang dahil sobrang ikli ng sequence na ito. At the end, buti na lang din na hoax yung Clarke Crater. At least may payoff yung journey nila and hindi nasayang yung emotional investment sa survival arc.
