For a Few Dollars More 1965

Shots are great, especially in the stand offs and one on one scenes. The framing has that classic old school western style where the characters are positioned carefully to build anticipation. Lighting and lens are very sharp. Sets and locations are great too. The dusty towns and wide open environments really help sell the western atmosphere. The sound design also feels old school. It lacks bass, I think. Everything sounds high pitched. Dialogues are obviously dubbed or rerecorded in the studio because some lines do not sync with the movements of their lips. The musical score sounds heroic, but emotionally I did not really feel it connecting with the story. Even by the end, I never fully felt the tension or triumph that the film was aiming for.
