127 Hours x Fresh x Send Help x Wild. The film started off with the Troll Wall not looking that convincing, especially compared to something like Everest (2015), but it turned into nice real sets, while occasionally using practical sets and CGI elements from time to time depending on what the story needs. Sasha’s character feels like Cheryl in Wild (2024). A woman with a tragic past who decides to go on a dangerous adventure, almost like she is trying to outrun or confront something inside herself through physical survival. Taron Egerton feels like a full blast unhinged James McAvoy here. I could definitely predict he had this kind of performance in him when I watched Billionaire Boys Club (2018), and it was further cemented in She Rides Shotgun (2025). Here, he really leans into that unstable villaneous energy. I did feel the danger while watching, but not as much as I expected from the trailer.
