The most Filipino survival movie: getting a valid ID.
I liked the framing where she looks trapped. The compositions make her look boxed in, which fits because the process itself keeps her stuck.
I don’t have many valid IDs too before because I’m too lazy to queue, but this one, she has no choice but to get one. I already avoid these processes when I can. Imagine having no choice.
Too real with the technicalities that even I am bewildered. The requirements, procedures, and little complications pile up until something as simple as getting an ID starts feeling like a mission.
Fuck this country.
I also gained a newfound respect for Pokwang here. Her acting feels so real and natural. I expected the dramatic scene at the end to make me cry, and I wanted to become more emotionally attached to her character, but the moment was too short. It did not linger long enough for the emotion to fully sink in, and that is probably my biggest issue with the film
