True Lies 1994

I told myself if this is boring, I am just going to watch a James Bond film. But to my surprise, the opening action already grabbed me. Never thought James Cameron could do a spy film with a touch of romcom. Action set pieces show James Cameron’s DNA. The scale feels massive, with real sets and big practical explosions. Flight sequences of jets and the bridge scene are quite impressive. But I have to be honest, there are moments where you really have to turn off your brain. Some scenes lean too much into over the top logic, and it can pull you out if you think too much about it.
