Casablanca 1942

The lighting really reminded me of 12 Angry Men. Black and white films just hit differently when it comes to highlights and shadows. I appreciate how the faces are shaped by light here compared to many modern films. The contrast gives more depth to expressions. The musical score and sound design are also great. It does not feel dated at all. I respect the beauty of the craft. The filmmaking is clearly strong and the story flows smoothly. But personally, I was not that invested in the plot. It works, but it did not fully pull me in emotionally.
