David Fincher is very good at creating mystery and suspense.
The golden brown cinematography is nice, though. Very different from the first two, which are mostly dark and cold. This one has more warmth and an industrial look, which really shows how great the production design is. The rusty browns, dirty interiors, and harsh lighting give this installment its own visual identity.
The VFX feels very experimental, and it sucks. Fincher should stick with the practical effects. The idea is cool, but the compositing makes the creature look strangely detached from the environment compared with the practical Xenomorph.
The weird tracking shot and POV of the Xenomorph look experimental too. I think nobody asked for a POV of that.
Strong filmmaking techniques, but the treatment for this third installment is not for me. Weird and out of touch. Feels like a fever dream.
